My headunit broke today i have checked al the wires in the back and every fuse in the fuse box and cant find anything wrong :( any ideas?

How old is the car, is the headunit covered under the same warranty as the car?

Otherwise, probably buy a new aftermarket headunit or call a breakers yard. I doubt it'll be worth the cost of reparing a standard Aygo radio.

Its a 56 plate i would like to have it working rather than a after market one cause it suits the dash better, but i think its completely broken because of the sound it made when it went off anyone know if there hidden fuse some where or anything at all?

Does the courtesylight still work? And doe you still have power to the 12V-socket? If so, the fuses are still allright...

Did you do anything particular when it made the sound?

The interior light still works, but the 12v power socket doesnt and all of the fuses have been checked and they are all fine i plugged a friends cd player in and that also doesnt work i am completely stumped and have no idea what it could eb but i refuse to pay to toyota to fix it!!

How did you check the fuses? Bij looking at them or by replacing them?

A fuse may still LOOK okay, but can still be broken with a hairline fracture...

If the 12V-socket doesn't work either, I'm pretty much convinced it's a fuse...

Number 29 in my manual, the middle one on the lefthand side of the speedo.

Should be a red one, rated at 15A. It also says this fuse has something

to do with the startinhibitor: can you still start the car properly?

I just looked at the fuses, i can still start the car and drive but i have checked the live cable which goes into the back of the headunit and its still live, i havnt checked fuses in the side of the steering wheel i didnt know there was any i will look into that.

I want to access fuse 29 in the instrument pannal does anyone know how i can?

Turn the steeringwheel to 3 o' clok, remove the screw that's visible.

Turn to 9 o'clock ad do the same there, back to 12 o' clock.

Release the height adjuster and lower the column.

Stick your fingers in the seam at the back and pry the cowling up:

it will split as the seams you can see on both sides.

Now lift the cowling up and you can access the fuses.

If you have a revvcounter you need to turn the cowling sideways

so the slot around it's foot can be slid free of the base.

This might be a bit ackward, but is quite easy to do so.
