I have a 94 Toyota Lucida Estima and after heavy heavy rain and wind a new light appeared on the dash - bright yellow an far left like a temple

with three or four pillars (or a dustbin) with a little nipple on the lid - any ideas - is it serious?

Sounds like the coolant level in the radiator. I think there is a plastic reservoir under the bonnet where you check the level.
