Automatic Light Switch

Hello everyone:)

I have Toyota Avensis 2006 and the light switch have position auto. The lights turned on automatically when the switch is in this position. But the lights don’t work when it is day light outside.

So I am wondering is there possible to fix this switch that lights turned on every time automatically when the car ignition is on? No matter if it is day or night. In Latvia we have restrictions that lights shall be used 24h in day. May be there is some sensor who signalized that there is daylight and I could tuned off this sensor?

Assuming the EU regulatins apply to your country the maximum wattage for daylight running lights (DRL's) are 25 watts for each on the front of the vehicle so by using the headlights you would be breaking the law.

It is possible to buy after-market kits especially for this purpose. Do a Google search for DRL kits.:)
