Slight Power Drain

I was driving this morning with no problems but whilst reversing onto my drive I had a sudden power drain (not enough to cut out but everything went dim, ie lights dash and headlights) I had been driving with heated mirrors, headlights, wipers and heater on. Should I be worried? My first thoughts were... alternator on its way out or faulty power steering? ANY advice appreciated. :help:

The Battery should have kept the lights ok I'd have thought. Have you checked the Battery connections are clean and tight? Also I had a car where the Battery could move up and contact the bonnet. Sudden electric and engine power loss and confusion until I saw the burn marks on the bonnet.

for some reason (maybe the small battery) I have found the terminals seem to come loose - so check the obvious first. Then you can check the alternator output by measuring voltage at the Battery.
