Replacement Audio Unit

I'm looking for a replacement audio unit for my Avensis 2005 (T3X) - it came to New Zealand as a Japanese import and only receives FM radio up to 90 MHz. Any suggestions where to purchase a new or used one...?

I can remember this problem arising during the 1980's and 1990's. I do know back then it was possible to have the existing unit modified by a decent radio technician. It may be worth persuing that possibility.:)

You can normally buy a band expander to fit to Jap radios to pick up the extra frequencies. Not sure where you'll get one in NZ though.

Thanks for the reply.... A band extender is the last resort - yes they are easy to get here in NZ but they don't cover the full FM band and usually come with a lot of interference and bad sensitivity... I guess I also would need two (the Avensis radio probably uses antenna diversity?)

I am still hoping to find a European unit somewhere...

nope you would only need ONE band expander and as long as you get a decent one not a cheap one you should get little interference :)
