I went to a rather posh wdding last weekend (had to buy a suit + everything) :crybaby: anyway my young nephew let me have a play in his BMW M5 which he is about to change for a new BMW M3 (Recession eh!!) anyway this is a 5 litre V10 500+ bhp floppy paddle gear box, all singing all dancing piece of kit, What was amazing other than the sheer performance, was the seats, obviously leather, electric, memory. heated, + air cooled, but when you put the seatbets on the side bolsters close in to hold you firm, then when you go round a left hand bend, the left bolster pushes even more to keep you upright, and visa versa on right hand bends, pretty cool I thought, 0-62, 4.8secs top whack 180+ mph..now the 2 reasons i won't be buying one, I don,t have £72000 and 9 (NINE)mpg

Just a bit more nonsence, at this wedding when the best man was due to give the groom the ring (and pretending he had lost it) a Barn Owl flew over everyones head + delivered the rings to the best mans hand, this I am told cost about £500  Anyone know where i can purchase a Barn Owl? Stew

With your luck Stew, you will just be waiting there patiently for the owl to bring the rings and the bl**dy thing will drop a dead mouse into your hand!

Well no, because the best man wears a leather glove with a little pocket in it containing a bit of Mousse which is what attracts the owl to bring the rings  we were a bit concerned that it may do a whoopsy on some of the guests on its way down the aisle, but apparently its not fed for 5hrs before it performs (not really clued up on owls digestive system ) but its handlers reckon it never has "I did ask" A further Idea!! As the wedding market is pretty well covered by Owls :D What about for christenings, A trained Eagle that flies over with the baby in its Tallons + drops it in the font, Refresh..change Eagle for a STORK :shutit: Stew

Earlier this year I rode in a client's Mercedes coupé that had this moving side bolster support stuff but was a bit amused to note that its sensitivity or speed of response was to slow for Devon lanes and it was shoving you after you have rounded the corner. Maybe it works better when taking wide sweeping bends of the Nurburgring at somthing-silly kph. Struggling, as I sometimes am, with a bad back, seats and their lumbar support is a topic I fuss about and both the Rav's armchairs and the GV's leather clad, firm, rather upright heated seats pass the test without recourse to too much expensive technology. Mind you, the quality of the hide used on those Merc seats was a bit special!

Years ago I had an air and water-cooled seat in a Morris Traveller. Not a design feature but more due to the rust hole in the floor beneath it.

I think the 500 pound for such a performance isn't that much if you would consider it from the trainer point of view.

He has to train that owl daily, 7 days a week.

He has to have quite a lot of things going on to have that owl in top condition and not many will actually want such an attraction for their wedding.

So he will most likely have to drive across the country with his owl and gear to earn a living by it, if he can even make a living out of it.

Yeah, it sounds like it's an easy way to make a living, but i can tell you that it isn't THAT easy.

Otherwise a lot more people would have been doing so.

I would not take most of what i say very seriously, I am not going to buy an owl, an eagle or a stork + i am quite sure a lot of care + training went in to getting the owl to do its trick  Stew

That Owl didn't take much training, it's radio controlled and electric powered - the green charging lead can clearly be seen in the photo

That explains why it was so tame, it just perched there all day as if it didn't give a Hoot :shutit: Stew

It obviously had a starring role in the ceremony but what part did it play in the wooooing?

Wait, WAIT... where did you say my owl has been?

Yes, the one going for world domination and the killer laser eyes, recharge feature and self deployment?

Mmmm... I will have to look it up then ;)
