Hi,

I need advice please. :help:

I'm looking to Install a New Cd Player/Speakers/ Amp and Sub into my 00, 1.3, 5 door, Yaris. Currently it just has the original CD player/radio and Speakers.

I went to the garage, twice for advice and got two different stories from two of the guys working there.. the first said the only problem would be installing the CD player because they have to put it in through the back of the dash and then it would be easy to set the sub and amp up (no mention of new speakers)..i've looked this up on the internet since, and there's plenty of simple tutorials on how to set up a new Cd player!?!?!so i cant see that as being a problem... the second said they could get the cd player in grand, they would have to fit new Speakers with the sub and amp but there might be a problem with trying to put new Speakers in the yaris, depending on how they are set up behind the door!?!

I'm confused and a total novice to all this. i would really appreciate any info you have!!!

Hannah!! :)

Are you looking for advice on how to do thisbyourself or on how big a job it is for someone else to do the job?

If its the latter, rather than going to a garage, I'd try going to a car radio specialist shop.

They'll have far more experience of how to fit upgraded audio components to the Yaris and will be able to give you much more reliable advice and estimated costs....

i went to Halfords aswell, they also said it would depend if they could change the Speakers. Are yaris Speakers commonly known for not being easy to replace??? i got a quote for €580 for the whole job...obviously depending if they can change the Speakers. Unfortunatly there seem to be little or no specialist reliable car shops in cork, a lot are based up and around dublin. :(

TBH i think that is waaaay too expensive, i would have the stereo fitted by a proffessional because their are a few wires changes due to the built in head unit, but, i installed my sub and amp personally and Speakers arent very hard at all.

Well depends on how much you are wanting to spend? If only a small amount maybe Halfords? Or you could search on eBay for some better quality stuff, also online companies such as theloudest.com. Just have a browse and see what your interested in.
