Around 6 months ago, my girlfriend and I bought a 1993 G Series Lucida to use as a campervan for our dream trip

around the UK and Ireland. Unfortunately, after spending an extra 700 quid on MOT, new brakes, suspension, power-

steering etc, it blew a head gasket and broke down almost immediately, threatening to cripple us financially and

ruin the trip. That is when we discovered this forum.

The recommendations we found here were of immense help and resulted in us deviating from our original plan of

having the head replaced and hoping for the best, and instead opting to have a fully refurbished '99 model engine

fitted by a London based Lucida specialist. Although it was quite expensive (it also needed a new radiator and

turbo) this turned out to be fantastic advice, as water had leaked through the old engine, rendering any attempts

at fixing it as a very costly mistake. Needless to say, the car now runs as new and powered us around our holiday

like a dream.

The reason I'm writing this is because our holiday is now over and I wanted to show my thanks to this forum by

offering the first chance at buying the car for less than half of what we've spent on her (yes, it's a she!), as

we need to move it on before we head back home to Australia.

We've just posted it on Gumtree, here is the link.

Feel free to get in touch on the phone number listed, or you can contact us through this forum via email or private message.

Thanks again to all those who have helped us over the past few months, I hope she finds a happy and loving new

home!

Ha, I guess it's better than the cold snap in Scotland!

As an update, we've had heaps of enquiries about the car, but nothing concrete yet. Seems disance is the issue... We really need to move it on, make us an offer and we might be able to organise a pick up/drop off somewhere!

I'll think about it - what accommodation can you offer in Oz and in what town????
