is it possible to lock a rav 4.2 with the key remote

without arming the interior passive alarm?

i havnt acquired a handbook yet so am relying on other owners

advice

If you mean disable the interior movement sensors, trying to think back to my 4.2 ownership days, I think a third press of the remote lock button should do it (press it within 2-3 seconds of the second lock button press which is for dead/super locking). At the third press, the indicators should come on for a longer period to confirm the interior movement sensor is disarmed.

Yes Kev, it does mean that SWMBO can lock you in the car while she goes shopping and stop you dissapearing into HiFi shops. No licking the windows now...........

That would just be plain cruelty. Locking him in the boot behind a guard, then smearing single malt on the passenger windows.
