D4D Acceleration Problem

hi guys this is my first post so please bear with me.. i have a 2005 avensis 2.0l diesel d4d, it recently failed to accelerate but when the car managed above to go above 2200 rpm the turbo came in and the car drove well but below that its flat and very slow. although sometimes it will start and drive normaly. when it is running poor it sounds rough and on one occcasion it reved to over 4000 rpm as i changed from 1st to 2nd gear any help would be greatfully recevied the car is showing no fault codes and has me puzzled thanks

Welcome to the club.

There are several posts on these pages discussing this problem. It usually comes back to either a small valve that controls the turbo called the VSV (vacuum sensing valve) or the SCVs (suction control valves). Just do a quick search or somebody will help you but I'm off to work now!!!
