Hi All, can anybody recommend a good fault code reader for the rav4 D4D 2ltr?. Just been on the net and there are so many different types for sale. Thanks

There was a recent thread about this, if you search back you should find it. Personally I use a Launch C-Reader V which handles the generic Emissions protocols that all compliant vehicles had to adopt. However I cant remember for diesels if it was compliance from 2004 or 2006, so you need to check that your 2005 car is OBD2 compliant. Your probably talking mega money if you want a machine capable of programming in new components etc.
