Hello and welcome to the forum.

I'm not the best person to reply as I'm likely to go on about oiling the hinges on the 5 door oil-burning RAV.

And I doubt it would take kindly to the rev limit of 8000rpm that I use - I can just imagine the pistons (do oil-burners have pistons? ) bouncing along the road in front of you..... I do remember that our oil-burning trucks work best between 1400 and 2500rpm but will pull at around 1000rpm. The generator runs at a constant 1500rpm and thats a BIG genny.

Here's hoping a oil-burning RAV owner will return from de-waxing their fuel soon :rolleyes:

Welcome to the club.

It seems a strange question but is determined very much by what the engine load is rather than speed. In other words 1500rpm might be smooth in 5th gear at 55mph but if the car was going uphill at that speed it might transmit more vibrations into the cabin.

Are there no laws yet about inciting fuel discrimination?

Seems to be at least one for most things!offtopic: ?? :g:

Even I'm in a dieselly thing now! It's a shame you have to de-wax the fuel with a blow torch before coming to work

Kingo

hello + welcome aboard mate

basing on my experience with mechanical gear transmission - it should be:

3rd -- to 4th shifting at 50 km/h

4th -- to 5th shifting at 85-90 km/h

no change to miles to have your standard,

cheers/Igor
