Hi - I have 1994 Estima Emina 4wd. This morning with advent of heavy snow when drove vehicle I noticed the red oil LED (symbol oil can) stayed on initially. Noticed this after several hundred meters. Stopped immediately. After starting and stopping engine in stationary position the LED began to go off and on and eventually went off altogether. Checked oil dip stick and oil level appears ok. Vehicle appears ok now.

Anyone got any idea of what was going on there?

Regards,

Bastun

If there is oil in the car, the most likely fault is a dicky oil level indicator switch. The level indicator switch is located in the sump and are quite famous for going faulty with the scenario you have described. That switch is telling you the oil level is low, NOT low oil pressure

Much obliged to you. Will look into it when wx moderates.
