T180 Tyre Replacement Options

No problem, it's an easy thing to overlook. You would think the electronics would be sealed, but usually there is some sort of port or hole required with a pressure sensor. I've not seen an actual Toyota sensor, but having seen others, I wouldn't be surprised if it were like that.

Hallo SHCM

I have just ended a long conversation with germany. They are saying that the new Rav-4 d-cat excecutive(T-180) is using 235/55/18 NONrunflat nonbsr and with that they use this tyrefit device(compresor and a can of white foam) when they get a flat tyre. They are saying that the foam will damege the tyre, meaning that once you use it after the tyre is useless and it will not damage the sensor! I dont know. All I know is that we areall in trouble with this thing .

All the best for the comming year

This page was taken from the T180 factory repair manual available on www.toyota-tech.eu:

T180TPMSWarning-1.jpg

I also can't find any reference for TPMS (only for tyre repair kit and tyre size) on new current "premium" grade RAVs here:

http://www.toyota-europe.com/cars/new_cars/rav4/grade_compare.aspx

or for "executive" grade on the German site here:

http://www.toyota.de/cars/new_cars/rav4/grade_compare.aspx

Although my German is not that good.

TPMS systems also used to be designed where I work and tyre sealant was NOT to be used.

This very clear but what does a tyre repair kit is doing with the 235/55/18 wheels like ours(only without the support ring)as you are pointing out at the toyota eu site?

I expect they no longer fit TPMS on brand new models, like they have done with the UK models, therefore they can supply tyre sealant with all wheel sizes as no TPMS valves are fitted.
