Heat From Yaris/vitz Is Warm

dont know if this has been covered before but my woman has being complaining that the heat from the vitz is not what it was.

even before the cold weather came in she was saying that it was taking twice as long to heat up and not putting out great heat even when warm.

iav changed the cabin filter about 4 months ago........come to think of it it was about then she started complaining?????

anyway, iav heard the rolla lads on about the heater matrix but i doubt it would be this.

open to suggestions, thanks

I would guess the thermostat in the engine heating/cooling system needs replacing. It's designed to remain closed as the engine heats up, opening/closing at a predefined temperature to maintain the engine at optimal temperature. When they go faulty they normally stick open causing the symptoms you describe. Higher fuel consumption is normal as well

ok well she hasnt been giving me the figures in the last few months to do the calculations so i will keep an eye on this and report back in the next few weeks, cheers
