Verso Sliding Rear Seat

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Before I make a trip to the gararge. Any body have any problems with the rear seat (near / passenger) side not sliding forward. I have pulled all the levers and sliders to no effect. The back tilts forward and can fold flat but the seat won't slide at all. I have a 58 plate verso.

Not had any issues with any row 2 seats in my 08 plate Verso they all slide using the lever under the front of the seat. Have a look at the runners to make sure nothing is obstructing the seat, it is easy for coins to fall out of pockets or if you have small kids any kind of food product can fall between the seats.

Not sure if this is relevant but this just happened to my 55 plate Verso too, on two of the sliding seats. My solution is to never allow my wife near them again :)

I'm getting the spanners out today, hopefully I can feedback later.

Update - took the seats out, broke plenty of plastic trim catches, turns out it was a metal pen that had fallen into a runner. So get a coat hanger and do your best to check the runners before taking the seat out :)

Had this problem last year on one of the second row (outer) rear seats. Pulled lever on side of seat, backrest moved forward but seat would not budge. Could move seat forward by lever under front of seat. On investigation, found cause was a circular spring (about 50mm in diameter) under seat, where seat meets the backrest, had broken. Until I can find where to obtain a replacement will live with it.

Anyone know the cost (if available) from a Toyota Dealer? Or where I can obtain one? Also, how do I remove the seat?
