Heater Works On The The Move

i have 2ltr d4d the car heater only works when car is moving but 5 seconds after i stop at traffic lights air blows cold .Engine temp is fine exactly where it should be .The moment the car starts rolling the heat comes back until i stop at the next set of lights

Try checking your coolant level...

...and if the level is correct, there may be air in the cooling system.

Also the thermostat may be on its way out.

thanks added just over half a litre of coolant sqidged the pipe now it works fine its hard to tell between max an min on expansion its hard to tell because its black instead of clear

is your heater fan motor running.if not check fuse.
