I hopped in my truck the other day, and discovered it won't roll. Long story short - both rear wheels are locked as if the brakes were on. I just spent a couple hours trying to convince the brake adjustment to let go to no avail. Any ideas or suggestions (that don't involve explosives) to fix this problem would be appreciated.

if it has drum brakes......remove wheels and belt the drums with a big hammer and that should do the trick.

It does; I'll give it a try - nothing else has worked so far!

back off the adjuster

disconnect the fluid line

disconnect the parking brake cable

sticking wheel cylinders?

pretty bizarre...

or did you leave it parked and they rusted???

I have a similar problem... the parking brake doesn't work. I shortened the cable and still no luck. The levers the cable attaches to that is connected to each drum brake seem to be stuck. Did you ever figure your problem out? Maybe mine is related. Thanks.
