Failure To Start

Hi, I have an intermitent fault on my 59 (new model) Avensis. I put the key in, turn it, the dash lights come on as normal but nothing happens when I turn to the starter motor position. If I get out, lock then unlock the doors, then the engine fires up OK. Strangely, locking and unlocking while remaining in the car doesn't seem to do it. I took it to the supplying agent who could find nothing wrong, although as it is an intermitent fault this is perhaps not surprising. Anyone got any ideas or had a similar experience? Gavin
