Help With Bhp On 2.5 D4D

Just new here folks.

I have an 07 2.5 d4d hilux, my mate also has one. The only difference between the two is mine has an air scoop (open vent) on top of the bonnet. My mate claims mine is an import and has approx 20bhp more than his.

Is this the case?

My main reason for asking is I want to chip / remap my car to increase power but have no idea what bhp it is at the moment therefore not quite sure what I will achieve.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your mates car is a 102 BHP and yours is a 120 BHP, it doesnt have to be an import at 120 BHP

You cannot re-map them, a chip kit is the only option to boost the power with any great degree. One of our kits will boost the car from 120 to 143 BHP and more importantly the torque goes from 325 to 384 NM ;)
