Hello everyone,

Wondered if anyone could help. I have a Aygo Black, 56 Reg. The rear parking sensors have been faulty for a while now. Just a long constant beep whenever I'm in reverse.

I've tried wiping over the sensors but no joy. Firstly, is there any way of fixing them? Secondly, if I want to just disable them, which fuse/ switch do I go for?

Appreciate the help.

It sounds like you have a failed sensor. If you can access them you need to disconnect each one until you find the one with a problem. Alternatively it could be a faulty controller box.

An autoelectrician would soon sort it for you.

Just a wild guess: this happens now it's cold outside? And mainly when the engine is cold?

I had sensors on mine, but removed them, as when it was cold

they responded to the exhaust-plume of condensation...

If they're a Toyota-set there's no simple way of disabling them, as they get power from the reversing

light and all plugs and connections are behind interior panels and inside the car-body...

Thanks for your advice.

I think I'll need to get an electrician to have a look. It's not the cold weather because it's been like this since before summer. I just haven't had the chance to get it sorted.

I thought maybe there is a simple fuse I can pull out or switch I can turn off but yes they are toyota official sensors so it could prove tricky.

Thanks again.

I have the same problem on my 60 plate aygo black. I've had them replaced once already, but they are still 'flatlining' every time i put my car in reverse! IMO they are very over-sensitive!!
