Rav 4.3 Wheels

Has anyone tried to fit 15" wheels to a Rav 4.3, my one is a 06 XT3 D4D with 17" wheels as standard, was thinking of changing to 15 or 16" to get a much greater choice of tyres. There doesn't appear to be a grat choice of 225/65R17 tyres with a good heavy pattern suitable for all year use.

There are loads of 225/65/R17s on offer, e.g. Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme

Depends what your budget is?

Edit: see the list at MyTyres which includes the well thought of General Grabber UHPs.

Be careful not to reduce the rolling radius of the wheels as the brake performance will climb so high you may have problems with the ABS and VSC working overtime.

Thanks Anchorman, I'll keep that in mind if I decide to change wheel sizes.

Reducing wheel size may interfere with the brake calipers etc etc . I'm not talking about the tyres.
