LOL. Love the stickers!!

I had a similar idea when I changed my wheels/tyres, but was not clever enough to think how I could created a container and pressurise it.

Well, I was thinking, I'll let Big Kev have a go first

But as James and Monitorlizard say, it can be turned off.

I think we need to turn up at Arnies together and not ask them if it can be turned off, but say to them, "How much to turn it off?"

I reckon if your any good at basic engineering, you could do this with an old fire extinguisher (one of the small ones for a car) thumbsup.gif

The problem is, at some stage you have to make a hole large enough to pass 3 of the 4 sensors through + then re-seal it, and also be able to attach + secure the fourth valve from the inside, but the shape + size provided its large enough to accomodate the valves is irelevant, it could be square, a ball, a bag, even possibly a hot water bottle, Stew,....not sure what a hot water bottle with 35 psi in it would look like, but might double up as a travel pillow

Below is what I read on another Toyota forum, i think its a Tundra. Maybe all we have to do is the same in the Rav???

My light started flashing too, after checking all 5 tires repeatedly and trying the reset & waiting 20 min. each time, it would not reset.

The TPMS computer is accessible without taking apart the radio and dash panels.

I took the glove box out (2 screws below glove box), removed the inner liner behind the glove box (3 screws) and if you look up towards the radio you can see the TPMS module, Toyota even labled it for us.

It is tight, but my hands are big and I was able to unplug the connector, cut the Pink wire w/silver bands and ground it to a nearby screw. Plug the connector back in to the TPMS module and guess what? - NO MORE F***ING flashing light!

No, the method is expensive overkill in my opinion.

http://www.bartecusa.com/wheelrite_tech400.htm

Find a tyre shop with one of these. It can turn off the TPMS lamp.

Given the list of other manufacturers' models which seem to share the same problem, it could be a nice earner for someone: Bartec on Amazon

Strangely, the ones on eBay are more expensive.

TPMS is like a rash all over the net in the USA.

It's due to become EU law to have them fitted (in new cars shortly. Hopefully the prices of the gismo's will fall. I quite like the idea of TPMS, its the BSR cartell I object to as when I purchased my T180 in 06, every 'stealer' was to have a ready built spare for exchange.

Just spoke to a Auto Electric guy and he says he can plug into the car and should be able to disable the TPMS light on the dash. He says only problem is that if you get a flat Battery or disconnect the Battery for whatevewr reason, the car will prob reset itself and the light will come back on
