Gt4 St185 Rear Diff Mount

hi guys, the car has been losing power for a while and i have taken the car to a local garig and they have told me the rear diff mount needs changing. how much should i expect to pay and also could the cause power loss on acceleration?

wonder if its anything like the diff mount on a RAV4 - the early ones suffered from a soft mount - I got it stiffened by using silicon filler. Can't see how this would affect power, other than giving you a clunk on acceleration - deceleration

yes i wasgetting a clunk sound when de accelerating this the noise started getting worse then the i just started losing power. the mecanic said that ther is so much play in the rear axle beam (i think thats what he said but i dont no too much about it)

it will cause a clunk but not power loss.

check for error codes first and report back ;)

just found out that the driverside drive shaft is damaged and this could be the probblem. once i get that rekond (4th of jan now as the company i have found to do it are closed until that date now) i will let you know how i get on.

the rear diff mount doesn't cause power loss, I've reciently changed one that was totally destroyed and the car drove fine except for the clunking.

I don't see the drive shaft beinag a cause of power loss either unless it was causing major drag on the drive train. Check the car for error codes, link in my sig, and see what is returned

hi GTFORBES, thank you for your email, i started getting power l;oss so the mecanic told me the clutch was probs slipping so i got a new one fitted the only problem with that is the guy that done it took the driveshaft off from the wrong position and the ballbearings came out of it and i dont think he put them back proberly so i need to send it of to get rekoned. were do i go on that link to find out about the error codes?
