Central Locking - Rhs Won't Unlock?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. Just bought an old 1999 3 door Rav4 with 92k on the clock. I LOVE IT.

Problem is that I have an issue with the central door locking in that the front drivers door won't unlock using the key. It just will not physicaly turn anti-clockwise. I have to unlock on the passenger side. It will lock ok on drivers door. I don't have any key fobs for the central locking so have to rely on the key to get in and out.

I took the panel off the inside of the drivers door and would seem that the lock will not turn anticlockwise by manually moving the levers inside. It's as if it was never supposed too. Almost as if it's a left hand drive car so nearside door would (passenger) would have been the driver door.

I have bought a remote control unit to put in place so that I can use a key fob but am struggling to know how to connect it.

I have a connector in the door that has 7 wires in it but cannot seem to work out which does what.

Any of you guys got any ideas please?

Also, anyone knows where I can get a user manual from?
