Lookin At Buying A Paseo St

hi im new to the site im looking at buying a paseo st..ive never heard of one of these but read a few reviews and seem ok...the problem is the one im looking at will need a new gearbox soon..how hard are they to source for these and ive changed few engines and gearboxs in cars before and wondered if like some cars can i change the gearbox with out taking the engine out as ill need to do this outside my house...are the st versions any good as well any onfo will help thanks in advance wayne
