Los Of Power While Accelereting

I own an avensis d4d 2001 which while stationary the engine sounds fine and starts well up to 1100 revs after that starts to choak and will not pull as I rev.

It only responds up to 1100 revs especially up hill when I have to go in first gear and slow other traffic bihand me .

I did clean the EGR valve and inter cooler but still the same .

Anyone any ideas appreciated.

After cleaning the EGR, did you pull the necessary fuses out to reset the memory ? Otherwise, I believe, engine will stick think the EGR is blocked - it has to relearn that its not.

There was no lights on in the dashboard anyway i had it computer diagnosed and cleared all the errors on ecu (which was showing "air flow mass meter sensor" faulty but I caused that by pulling the jack off the meter)and still the same .

I am doubting on cat. converter.

Will let you know if that was the problem.

thank you for replying.

hi mate

check with SCV mounted on the fuel injection pump body.

If they partly open suction line then you can experience such issue.

Cheers/Igor
