Guys,

I was two days ago to have full check in Toyota workshop.

Battery checks were part of those check.

I was looking at the engine today - and i have only plastic cover on "+" Battery connector and no cover on "minus".

I do not remember if i had it before. Should it be there or not at all?

thx

regards

Tomek

Hi Tomek,

As the vehicle is "-ve" earth, there is no need for a protector on that pole of the Battery as the whole of the car chassis and body is at the same potential. The plastic cover is really to prevent accidental shortcircuiting so if the +ve pole is covered it can't happen. If you have ever dropped a spanner across the poles of a powerful Battery you become paranoid about taking the plastic shield on the +ve terminal off - I can tell you from personal experience :blushing: I still have the spanner with half the end missing somewhere I think.
