My front wipers wouldn't clean properly and i just replaced them, but they were split every so often when i checked them out and the back one is now starting to split but only at the ends.

yeah, rear wiper is cack, you have to use loads of water before it's effective, and the blasted thing constantly squeels it's way back and forth.

I've alread swapped the blade, and it made no difference. Think the spring is a little under rated, there just isn't enough pressure.

I've got this problem too. It just kind of slightly pushes the rain evenly across the windscreen so you can't see anything.

I've not long had the car so I was assuming it'd just need a new blade - took me long enough to replace it though. Couldn't find a proper replacement anywhere so I just bought a replacement rubber bit from Halfords and it won't fit, luckily I found a Bosch one I had lying around and that seems to fit. It seemed ok this morning, but that's the only time I've tried it.

mines c*ap too i had a new blade from toyota and its still crap i think the spring doesnt push it against the curved screen enough so it jus spreads the water instaed of moving it!

Doh! Tried the new rear wiper today, and it's just as bad.

Has anyone fixed this - better spring or something maybe?

try to clean your window your self(by hand), they try to use the wiper, you might have some tree sap stuck on it

I gave it a good wash the other day, but I've got about 20 different bottles of glass or windscreen cleaner stuff lying about, so I'll do a good job with some of that and see if it helps.

It's the chuffing spring as I mentioned earier, also the tight arc the blade has to perform in.

The blade is short, and thus doesn't fit snugly over the curve of the screen. The shorter they are the less flex they have. It judders because parts of the rubber and getting hold better than other parts, so the blade doesn't "flip" over in the direction of the wiper sweep cleanly. New blades will work for a short time while there still soft, but as they stiften, the problem will return soon enough.

If you actually operate it..then turn iggy off with the wiper in mid arc..and have a look...you'll more than likely see the middle of the blade in contact...but the edges less so.

I take it all back, the rear wiper's working perfectly today! How can that happen?! one wipe and it seems to clear every drop of moisture, so much so that it squeaks all the way back! :P

That could be it, but it's never worked before in the past couple of weeks. Hmmm, must have been the old wiper blade last time, then when I replaced it it may have been too cold, but now.. New wiper + non arctic conditions = happy wiping!

Got no problems with my rear wiper. Now and again will make a noise but thats only when the rubber is dry from lack of use.

Maybe it is less effective when the temperature is below freezing. :hokus-pokus:

I noticed that after the freezing weather it took my front wipers a bit of time to "adjust".... now they're fine though and I have no probs with the front or rear...

Maybe its worth getting a new blade though, just incase...
