Clutch Pressure Plate Worn

Hey guys, I have a bit of a problem with my Aygo. Bought the car in April 2010 and now 10months later (Jan 2011). Every time i press the clutch pedal down it makes a constant "ClunkClunkClunk" until i depress the Clutch Pedal. I went to the Toyota Dealership where i bought the car this morning and told them the problem, they told me it was the Clutch Pressure Plate and said it would cost around £500!!! I asked them if i was covered by my 1year warranty and they told me that since i hadn't had the car serviced since buying the car, therefore i was not covered for anything???.... I am seeking advice on what to do next, can anyone advise a Garage(s) to go to in order to sort out the problem? Also i checked online for how much a clutch pressure plate was and the cheapest one was only cost £52 + £12vat, so what the hell!!??

You don't say how old the car is?

New should have at least 3 year warranty, I think it was June 2010 when the 5 year one came in...

If it's not under warranty, try a specialised clutch company, they may be cheaper than Mr T
