Wiper Mechanism Broken...

Hi everyone - as per title - fiancee's Carina E (fabulous car; automatic, M-reg, 60k)wiper stuck to windscreen in recent ice. Poor girl activated wipers without de-icing them and the ball-like bush under the bonnet and plastic grill has popped off the arm. There is now no connection between motor arm and wiper hinge arm.

Tried a bodge with some wire to keep the cup on the post but it keeps coming off.

Is there a better bodge or do I need a new mechanism?

If so, where do I get one from?

Drill a hole through plastic cup and completely through steel ball.Put a split pin with a washer through and you should have a permament fix.Drill the hole in the cup a little larger to allow for movement and put grease in cup
