Some Advice + Pointers Please...?

Hi peeps,

Have a couple of questions that hopefully someone will be able to help me with or point me in the right direction for an answer. :)

1. Is there a "best" rev range for the D4D 2.2 lump? On my old VAG 2.0 TDI PD lumps, keeping the rpm around 2k gave the best mpg and was smack in the peak torque area. Just wondered if there were any thoughts / experiences / data available for the Mr T RAV4 lump?

2. Is there any simple-ish way of getting rid of the annoying "door open" beeper? When cleaning / working on the car with the key in the ignition so I can listen to some choons, that bl**dy beeper really gets on my pip! :ffs: I've searched the forums but can only find stuff about turning off the seat-belt warning bleeper.

Or is there a simple-ish way to get the radio / CD set-up powered direct without the need for the key to be in? Without taking the whole dash apart...?

On some radios you can power it up by pressing and holding the on button. It will poweroff after an hour.

If that one works, Anchs, ah'll put ye down for a McGhee's Roll on Bacon wi' Totty Scone....that "key in beep" drove me bonkers the other day whilst hoovering out two months of grit from my RUBBER MUD mats / FOOTWELL TRAYS.......

Not on mine it doesn't.

Change over switch between ign switched Battery feed and permanent Battery feed with switch common then connected to the switched supply input to the radio would do it. That would involve taking some of the dash apart.

Point 1 - I keep it between 1 and 4K.

Point 2 - Does my head in as well - I know the !Removed! door is open :)

That's what the radio on my Leons did - but sadly it doesn't work in my RAV :(

I'll have to think about this further before I start pulling the dash apart - I know what a :ffs: nightmare it is doing anything like that on the wife's Yaris so doubt it will be any easier.

My radios all work without the need for a key seeing as I replaced them all. nananana !!!

Is the RAV4 4.3 XTwotsits D4-D 150 5 door with added rear cameras really worth all the hassle?? I think not ! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Thats why i purposely put PORTABLE radio, thought if i put Tranny, (A) i was leaving myself wide open (B)some of our younger members, might not know to what i was referring Stew (but as i always say don't knock it, till you've tried it)
