New Rav4 Sr ?

Hi All, Great forum you have here.

Hi have a dilemma, I'm changing my current car (F10 BMW 530D), great car good fuel econ (overall 37mpg) very powerful..... but it's lost a lot of

money since new as cars in the luxury end of the market do. I can swap it for a new Rav4 SR and not pay anymore which is my aim as I've just moved

house and don't want the expense. It's a hard decision mentally to to effectively go down market, but Im trying to be practical here as I'd like to

keep the Rav for a longish time (5 year warranty and all). Can any owners here help me with some views they have of their cars such as mpg, comfort,

reliability etc...

Thanks

Simmo

Tried driving a BMW once - horrendous.

You'll find the RAV an entirely different drive which copes with slippy conditions 50000% better than BMWs.

Some of our oil-burning RAV owners will be along soon.... and welcome to the forum .

Welcome Simmo,

You must have had some really horrendulous times recently in what is a really nice REAR WHEEL DRIVE luxury piece of kit.

Haven't driven a 5 series since the 1980's, but let me assure you you will not regret the change to a very well engineered 4 wheel drive system. If you think you will miss the power, further upgrade your SR with an ECU upgrade from Parts King on here, also known as Kingo. (He quotes us prices...we tell him where he KinGo.....)

I personally would not think twice about this "downgrade", but do not envy your premicadent in choosing...good luck.

Big Kev.

Thanks Kev

Good thinking I'll look into the ECU thing. As to the recent weather, it was all I could do to get out of my driveway with the help of a shovel and next door neighbors pushing

Has Kingo got a thread or website I can look at ? I think I know already that I will change as the local stealer has offered me a good P/ex, but it's nice to hear some reassuring words. :)

I think the test drive in the SR will tell you all you need to know and when the snow stops all your ex-beemer mates you will ask "what snow"!!!

Simmo,

As a wee aside, you will find that you don't get a spare wheel/tyre going by memory, but you get an aerosol (always gotta watch how ah spell that...) of Tyreweld type gunk stuff. If like many others you would prefer a spare wheel, contact MarsKy hereon who has the details of a company who do spot-on replicas, albeit the SR YOU WILL BE BUYING (SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE....?) will more than likely have the darkened alloys, which some people like....(not me). If you have won the lottery, buy a spare from Toyota....sorry Kingo.

As they say down your way....Oh Yes Just Now.....

Big Kev

Cannot Argue, Del, and this will be the 47th Kingo Chippo Kitto I have solicited on behalf of Lindop, whose golf outing does not include fat people, obviously....
