Alloys Bubbling

Hi All

As you can see from the title you may have guessed I have an issue with my alloy wheels.

3 of them have started to bubble around the centre caps of the wheel.

has anybody else had this issue and is it a warranty claim?

When i had my Mr2, alloys bubbling was a common problem and was dealt with through the manufacturers warranty so i'm hoping this is the same.

I thought i would check with people on here in case my local toyota dealership tries to fob me off.

hi alan, yes these will be covered under warranty, i had the same problem on my yaris sr and was sorted under warranty so get it to mr t asap

if your toyota warranty time span allows it wait until after the winter months of salt then get them replaced under warranty.

thats what im going to do, i was told to do this off the record by one of there mechanics

the problem with waiting is if you scuff the rims they wont change them under warranty, i was told that with my yaris so got them swapped, but try and wait till summer and get them changed then

the mechanic told me, even if my alloy thats bubbling near the bolt holes in the centre "would still be covered under warranty even if i had kerbed them because the damage wouldnt be anywhere near the bubbling in the centre" as it happens they are still in mint condition, apart from the slight bubbling on one near the bolt holes, so i will wait until march when the salts gone
