Rev Limiters (particularly Interested In N/a Mr2s)

I'm having a bit of a heated discussion with a mate as to whether my 2 is chipped. He thinks it is because where the rev limiter kicks in on my N/A. How many revs does everyones revlimiter work at? cheers

i think i saw somwhere that its 7250 or thereabouts...not too sure tho

Yep 7250 about right, where the redline goes thicker. BTW chipping it to remove the rev limiter would be a bit silly unless the engine had had significant upgrades. It really doesn't make any sense unless you want to blow it up. Just tell you mate that. If it's hitting the limiter below 7250, it won't be because of a chip, that too would be silly..... chipping to decrease performance :)

late engines have a higher rev limit, my uk 1992 hits limiter at 7300 rpm,....but my dads 1995 celica GT (same engine as the later MR2's) has once  kept acceleratng to 7800 rpm and it didn't hit any limiter....

Yeah my MR2 revs to ~7700rpm. 1997 :)
