Standard Stereo Revoval

Can anyone tell me how to remove the standard stereo so that I can put my Sony CD head unit in. I don't want to experiment and start snapping bits of facia.

Other cars I've done this with have visable screws but Toyotas look to be better made, I'm scared to snap anything.

I think I just need to remove the plastic facia that surrounds the heating controls and stereo but I'm not sure.

The car is a 1998 ® Avenesis 1.6 S

Thanks in advance.

yes just pull the facia off starting from the bottom working your way up. when facia is removed you should be able to see how the head unit is fixed in place

just wondering if removing the fascia will remove the trip computer screen as well...?

Yep, no trip computer.

It came off really easy, the old stereo was out and the new one in in about 15 minutes. The brackets that were on the toyota one fitted on to the sony and it screwed back in the same way. all I needed was a PC2-17-4 connector adaptor from Halfords and I was in business, clipped the facia back on and I was done.
