My apologies if the has been covered elsewhere.....

Our new Avensis is Dark Steel Mica according to the Toyota Colour Code.

It looks Black with tiny blueish sparkles in sunlight (not much around at the moment).

However the V5 has come through and it is described simply as Grey.

If all Dark Steel Micas are described as Grey then it's no problem - anyone else got one?

Many thanks!

My Deep Titanium Avensis is also described as grey - and that is almost black with tiny greenish sparkles....

Thanks - I think mine was called Deep Titanium in the showroom, I got the Dark Steel Mica reference from the colour code on the car itself.

Looks like Grey might be the 'official' DVLA colour then!

Having been a copper in a previous life I can tell you that the DVLA will only use basic colour references. When I used to do PNC checks on vehicles the colour would only ever come back as blue, white, green etc. Calling colours all the fancy names under the sun is of no interest to the police. We just needed to cross reference the basic colour held on the database to what we were seeing in front of us.

If we saw a grey car in front of us and it came back as yellow on the PNC we knew we had a problem!
