Hi all,

I really need some urgent help. I'm in Essex am a single mum to 4 kids so REALLY need my car (toyota estima lucida 2.2td) G spec.

I had an oil level light come on... the car had already been smoking intermittently. I check the expansion tank under the bonnet and all seemed ok. Anyway I decided to check oil level from the engine to find it almost empty! I've since topped it up light is out but the car is smoking more and more (lie a bonfire behind it) but not all the time. Only under 1500 revs. I don't know what to do or where to go... it's been suggested it could be a breather pipe somewhere??? :crybaby::help::help::help::help::help:

If its worse after idling....when leaving the lights for example, it could be valve stem oil seals ...... otherwise you could look at turbo oil seals.

A compression check will tell you if there is any excessive engine wear unrelated to the above.

Check the oil levels regularly until sorted, as its obviously burning some...

Any garage will be able to do a compression test for you. Shouldnt have to pay for it, but if you do it will be 1 hours labour max.

Cheers

I'd be leaning toward the turbo oil seals, which I would have thought can be replaced without renewing the turbo - let us know what it was though........
