Auto Gearbox

Hi again, just joined and this is my second post. Just bought a 1.4 diesel auto and find the gearbox a bit erratic. When braking it sometimes, usually when just setting off, changes down a gear and revs throwing the car forward, not severe but noticeable. Also when going down hill the box will change down and rev up to 5000rpm and stay there for some time.

Is this normal? The car is 2007 and has only done 16000 miles.

By the way I am disapointed with the quality of the materials and built, not as good as my old Scenic IMO.

The Auris must be similar to the Yaris in this respect then. Really cheap and nasty compared to my previous Vauxhall. There would seem to be little or no extra underbody protection, other than thin paint, either. Because when driving over chippings it sounds like shaking a tin can full of stones! My Vx had a thick pvc coating underneath and wheel arch liners. This must be the first car I've seen for years without those.
