Red Led Under Footwell On Rav4

Hi all, today i was fitting a hands free kit on my RAV4 XTR, only had the rav4 for a month or so, so still getting use to it. i had my head under the drivers footwell, where the pedals are and i noticed a red LED which was on, mounted to the botton of the dashboard.

I dont have a clue what its indicating?? does anyone???

It illuminates the footwell. There's one for the passenger too

As simple as that!!! i thought it was a warning / diagnostic LED or something alonge those lines. learn something new every day. i will check the passenger footwell aswel. thanks.
