Door Locks

Hi there

Having a few problems with driver door lock on my 1999 rav4 freesport.

The key wont push into the lock properly and feels as if it will break if i push any harder.

Can i strip the lock down or does it need a good grese up?

i was thinking about taking it out to investigate and also wondered what sort of job it was.

Also wondered if the passenger lock was the same as that one is perfect

good dose of wd40 type stuff over a couple of days and see how that works. It can get sticky without a bit of oil.

Exactly as Bothy sez....put your key about halfway into lock, then using the wee red straw of your WD39.5, force a liberal amount in to the offending menachism JUST ABOVE THE KEY, WHICH HAS ALLOWED YOU BETTER ACCESS by opening the outer lock thingy by enough to fit the wee red straw in. When ye get up in the morning, prey hesto....freed lock.

Don't forget to wipe the excess WD off the keys when you extract them from said squirted lock, or yer pants will ming of it for a while (aye....been there...)when you put them in your pocket.

Big Kev (and you all WONDER why I got Goorooed....)

(Sorry....no Ravs for sale here....look elsewhere.)
