I have a good friend who owns a 1992 toyota 4WD extended cab pick-up. He has been experiencing trouble with his transmission. It started with the speedometer acting up, the needle would jump up and down, then the tranny started acting like it didn't know what gear it was in. This problem does not happen all the time it is sporatic, with no certain pattern. It goes away once you reset the computer by removing the Battery cable. I suspect that it may be a sensor or a loose connection. Does anyone have any idea's? Also is there a better manual than a Haynes for this vehicle? Any help is very much appreciated, as this is a good friend who needs this vehicle for work, and like me cannot afford a dealer repair bill.- Thanks!
