Watch out !!

From my local Police in Derbyshire

Over the weekend of 14-17th January, offenders have removed the catalytic converters from two 4x4 vehicles parked on the street – a Ford Ranger van parked at East End, Elton, Matlock, and a Toyota Rav4 parked on Eversleigh Rise, Darley Bridge, Matlock.

A number of catalytic converters have been stolen from vehicles in the City of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Anyone with information should call 0345 123 33 33. Crime numbers: 2794/11, 2839/11.

The scrap value is much more. I know ! We deal with scrap metal merchants (EMR) weekly. With scrap steel geting £214 a ton at least, metal is big business - just wait until yer wiring harnesses get nicked as well - copper is £5000 a ton. The aluminium price has quadrupled the value of landrovers too!

Is it possible for the price of a Landrover to increase? They are only worth a balloon and a sticker to start with

Nobody has clicked here, have they....? First we have the shock news of a thus far unnamed resident of the Peak District selling his almost new Rav....

Then we find out from Guy (obviously a well known police informant) that expensive parts are going missing from Ravs in the SAME AREA as this person is selling his.

Could he be collating the parts to build one to his own exacting standards...?

Name witheld.

Kingo....important that you look out for emails looking for parts from a "William the Anchorman" which he may abbreviate to

"W.Anchorman". If he contacts you, use our intermediary with the police, Vivian M.

I thought it was cutting, cruel and pointed.

.......I quite like it and I wish I'd have thought of it. :D. Obviously Hoovie, my mind is nowhere near as finely tuned as yours.

Stripey one is full of boy racers and silly big bore exhausts. Is it OK to put cats with big bore exhausts?

2 tons @£214 a ton;

1/4 ton of alloy and aluminium = £300+

engine cast iron @ £260 a ton

Spare parts £5.99

Hello All,

Well at least quite a few have read this post - make sure your cat flap is open so your RAV can creep in as night falls !!

Anchorman - I shall be devastated if SYR has to go.

Best wishes to all on this forum
