Condensation On Glass

Can anyone please recommend something that will help to prevent or remove condensation of internal glass surfaces when car is parked for some hours. I have tried wiping with a chamois and a duster but those materials do not absorb the moisture and just leave blobs of water on the inside of the screen and windows that dries and leaves dirty blobs or a film on the glass, visible in sunlight. A/C on high plus de-mist button has very little effect in getting rid of that moizture when it forms.

I have had similar problems. A lot of condensation on the inside of the windscreen, difficulty getting it cleared quickly using the a/c, also difficulty clearing the windscreen with a cloth or chamois as if there were a film of some sort on the inside; plus during the very cold spell a thin film of ice on the inside - first time I have seen this. Of course if you leave the a/c on for a few minutes it will clear, but who likes hanging around waiting for this to happen? The question is: why it this a problem with the Prius and not with other makes?

Lol - oh believe me mate, it's a problem with others too!

My wife's old suzuki Alto was chronic for ice on the inside, we used to have to squirt de-icer inside as well as out! (and the one before that too) it's something to do with the weather, warm inside the car and freezing outside! You brearhe, it condenses on a cold surface (the windows) and then freezes.... Only 100pct certain cure is to pray for no frost and an early return to what passes for summer in the UK.... The Aygo isn't as bad as the Alto's were, but still freezes up a bit....:(

"I'd really suggest not using Eco mode if your journey is only 3 miles! Not sure if you know but it restricts the output of the a/c and heating - esp when you are stopped in traffic. If the weather is cold and you have a journey of less than 10 miles keep it in 'normal' mode. "

That,IMO, Grumpy, is one of the best tips to appear on this Forum. I can only assume you wanted to emphasize it because it appeared three times ! Thanks for that. I can confirm that it does work.
