Changing the speedo face .

(Time for the job + - 1 hour)

Tools needed for job 1 flat 1 small Phillips and a Normal Phillips (Optional extras a tin of Dashboard cleaner and a CLOTH)

I know this might seem strange but we’ve found this is the easiest way to start.

Around your air-con switches you have a black surround.

Prise this off starting at the inner edge near the fuel dial, and work your way around, this is only on with clips. Behind this you will find 2 screws, undo them

Then push screwdriver in between dashboard and black insert that goes from

Passenger side to driver side.

And the whole dash will come out from passenger side to driver’s side (make sure both front doors are open)

Now you can see all the dials, there are 4 screws holding this in place, undo them all. Now the only thing holding this in is 4 block connecters. On the

Right hand side there is Brown and Blue block connecter, at the top of these you

Will feel a small button, press in and pull connection out. On the left hand side there is 2 White block connecter, disconnect as above.

Now you’ve got all the dials in your hand, prise the clear plastic off by impressing

The surrounding clips. Follow the above for the black surround.

Now you should be able to see all dial un- obstructed, prise the Speedo needle

Undo the 2 small black screws that hold the face in place.

The small Speedo needle stopper just prises out,

use a !Removed! action to put this in to your new face

(It’s a tight fit but it will go, and be careful not to bend the new face)

warning warning

Do not replace the Speedo needle yet!!

Or the clear plastic cover!!!

Put back the black surround back around the speedo and other gauges

Plug your cable connecter back in to the ports at the back.

(Very tricky)

Once this is done switch on you ignition, and check all dashboard

Lights are working. Now make sure the ignition is still on, and then

Making sure your needle is pointing to 0 M.P.H and push on.

Replace clear plastic cover over dials, and refit screws and the rest of the dash.

:D Thanks for this great info Gazza, just what I was looking for cos I have been looking at this dashboard for a few days now and it completely had me beat. I had given up in case I broke something.

Gonna try that tomorrow = so wish me luck.

Kind regards,

Tingtang.
