Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased A 2007 Xt-r and i have noticed that the leather trim on the door panels is starting to come away.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Mine is a 56 xt5 but i guess the door cards will be the same and no problem yet. I do have a small tear in the side of the drivers seat that you can see when you get in and out. Can't for the life of me think how the previous owner managed to do it!!!

I think that might have been the subject of a TSB and a repair may be covered even out of warranty? worth a check.

My 08 XT5 had exactly the same problem and both seat covers were replaced by Toyota. Have a search on the forum and I'm sure you will find the photos of a typical "tear" ( actually it's wear ) and the TSB that describes the problem and the solution. Mine lasted about 15,000 miles from new before the problem came to light.

  • 4 months later...

Hi All,

Thought i would update you all on the 'Leather' situation with my drivers seat!

RESULT!!! Our Rav finally went in to Snows Toyota, Hedge End yesterday and had the warranty work carried out!!! Many thanks go to Steve at Snows for all his hard work in getting Toyota to cough up and get the drivers seat replaced, it took a couple of months, but he got it sorted.

So, The warranty would not pay for the seat, but toyota customer service did.

We also had the B9004 Sat Nav replaced under warranty due to a 'Buzzing' noise and the screen going dead intermittantly and the steering intermediate shaft was also replaced due to a knocking/ clunking noise.

The gear change is still crunchy into 2nd, but its better since they adjusted it.

So overall, im very happy, especially with Steve @ Snows Toyota.

Chris
