Hi, I am new to Toyota ( just got a 2007 Auris 2.0 D4D) and am looking for a blu-tooth stereo for it, preferably with sat Nav but don't want a system that won't suit. I have found this one which looks good:

But does anyone have experience of this system or know a better one that I should go for?

Thanks,

Hi Steel,

A word of caution, this will not match the colour of your dash (the photo they use to show it "fitted" is in fact a photo shop.

I would recommend a Parrot Blue tooth system or one off an Auris at a scrap yard - the Toyota system works very well. As for the SatNav maybe you could find an Auris being broken for spares which had one fitted - that's what I am trying to do but they appear to be quite rare.

If you were to purchase this unit (or similar) how do you intend to match the colours? I know you can buy things like carbon vinyl which you could use to "skin" your centre console?

Thanks for the advise, I have been looking for the Toyota part for a few weeks without any luck at all. I would really want it to match without a skin so I'll keep looking for a genuine one, do you know if it as straight swap replacement? And what do you think about:

Bluetooth

Cheers

The blue tooth kit is very similar to mine (controls on steering wheel);

I would recommend that kit.

I have been told the sat nav is a direct replacement however I have heard that you need the GPS antenna with it for it to work, which is why I recomend looking at one being broken for parts - just rip out everything attached with it

If you can live without the satnav function their are some great radios on offer, this one for example I quite like the look of but have no DAB signal near me so would be pointless - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-AURIS-HYBRID-USB-GENUINE-DAB-RADIO-/360333711422?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53e590183e

Thanks again,

How simple an install is it? Could I do it myself? I am relatively capable but don't want to damage the car.

Cheers

Just fitted a tns510 that I won on eBay for an unbelievabl 400 quid.Brand new came with everything including the ipod kit. Relatively straightforward to fit but had to buy a frame from Toyota to complete the job.Cost an extra £40 but it looks the absolute dogs.

Very pleased with it and my only gripe is my iPhone will not download its phonebook to the bluetooth. That is more to do with Apples paranoia than this unit.

Hi, I am new to Toyota (just got a 2008 Auris 1.6 VVT-i SR) I'm loving the car. Only prob is it didn't have bluetooth or Sat-Nav installed so I'm looking for a unit that will give me all these options instead of buying them separately from Toyota.

I'm currently looking at a T8928G Car DVD Player With GPS,Ipod,Iphone,BT,SWC,HD,3 Zone Screen

Link: http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxwebstore_product/430.html

Would love some advice on the above unit (if anybody as installed it) or what other units would be best to look at for the above mentioned.

Many Thanks

Again, the only photo of it shown is a photo shop, and the colours will not match unless you skin it with something... This seems to be a popular unit for people to look at but never heard of anyone buying one. Having bought things like phones and sat navs from China etc in the past I am alway wary of these types of units, generally the user interface is shoddy and build quality not much better but by no means avoid this unit because of this post. I am interested to see what people think of these but wont take the plunge myself.

Thanks,

I have installed that unit few months ago, and so far I'm quite satisfied.Installation is no frill, with all options (camera, parking sensors), unit working from then without one reset.Menu system is not quite good, like in branded products, but its working,BT and navi is working great (better than my old nuvi),major setdown is poor sound quality (when weather permits amp is going in).Integral lighting is matched to car, shade of fascia is near to perfect match.

All in all, even i had great reserve about those chinese multieverything machines I am satisfied.

That actually looks okay... does it work with the steering wheel controls? (if you have them)

Any chance of a video of the menu system?

And you say the sound isn't great, is it worse than the standard unit?

It is working with steeringwheel ctrls, you can assign functions for each button (in package you get interface cable for enabling that)

I'll post some video of all unit function in day and night conditions, in few days when i catch some time.

Sound is like on OEM headunit, you can adjust it to some measure but nothing special.

Now I have the Toyota bluetooth kit fitted (hold the Menu button for phone commands). Does this override that function? If you know of course :)

It overrides it, cause if you want steering wheel comands to work with headunit, you have to disconnect cable from BT kit and plug it to headunit.

I'm also looking at a Kenwood DNX-7240BT, sat nav, bluetooth, SD, USB, DIVX unit has an option. I know I will have to buy the facia as well.

Any comments on the unit has a replacement.

Thanks
