My Aygo failed MOT on Lmbda readings - 1.172 1st time and 1.281 2nd time. CO readings were 0.050 and 0.036 and HC readings 156 and 140.

The garages suggested it may be that the sensors are faulty and quoted £55+vat to fix the problem. Is a failed sensor the likely cause on my Aygo (nearly 60K miles)? If they were to replace the lambda sensors, is this a reasonable price?

How easy is it to replace the sensor my self?

Thanks.

Hi Ben

It's not that difficult to replace a sensor here's a web site with some pics click here but at only £55+ VAT I wouldn't bother and would get the garage to do it for you. The sensor is likely to cost about that much just to buy and if it doesn't solve the problem the garage are unlikely to charge you for it
