Open Back Door With Towbar Fitted

Can you open back door fully on rav4 T180 with a fixed towbar or do you have to have a removal towbar

Need to know before i buy one any help !!! thank you.

If it's OEM it should be okay.

I have a detachable towbar fitted, but the door can still be opened no problem with it fitted: T180 and towbar

I agree, my OE detachable tow bar clears the door by a long way,having bought & installed the bar & electic kit my self i would not recomend non toyota stuff at all..........

That is good news -the door on the mark 2 can't be opened with the detachable in place and it is a real nuisance.

Hi there

We have a 2010 D4D XTR with a Brink (Thule) detchable fitted. Looks like the official Toyota one in all but name.

Rear door opens with bar on but not when caravan coupled (weel it does for about a foot).

A bit of a pain but we get round it.
