Insuring My Imported Verso

When we were living in Belgium, but about to return to the UK, we bought a RH drive Corolla Verso 2.2 D-4D 6MT Linea Sol. The car dates from Nov 2007. Insuring the car in the UK has been expensive. Whenever I look for a cheap quote, I get to the stage of having to select the trim for the car (having declared it as an import). But the only options are normally the T-2, T-3, T-4 and T-Spirit. I've never known which one to choose, so I've always ended up going back to the same old broker who sorts me out with a vastly expensive policy. I'm fed up and would like to know which of the trim options I should choose from the ones offered. Does anyone know which UK trim would correspond most directly to the Linea Sol? I can provide a full spec if needed.

Suppose it's also worth asking whether anyone would advise against "deliberately" going with the wrong trim. Currently I'm paying about £375 per year more for my insurance than I think I should...

My V5 specifies SR trim so none of the basic T specs. I know the SR is a T3 with extras. I would ask the DVLA how they class the car as this is where insurance companies will be getting their information. If you know the nearest T spec for you car then I would go with that and declare any extras over and above that T spec. From a quick look at Toyota's Dutch site it look like the range runs Luna, Sol and Premium, which would put it around a T3 spec.

I would never just guess the spec as if you declare it incorrectly your insurance is not valid.
